This is actually a real number. They left me a voicemail yeatersy, sent me an sms today so range 133LPG and finally spoke to someone and as my BSB number had changed, the direct debit had failed. Just call Origin if unsure on their number but not a scam

This time I got a text saying my LPG account is $86 in arrears...I don't have LPG.

Received a message from a woman with a foreign accent.
She stated she was from Origin LPG and wanted to discuss our debt account. The number to return her call was 1300 788 240.
We do not have an account to finalise.

Hi,

Received call today claiming to be Origin, they asked for me to call back on 1300 788 240. Requested my personal details, however I would not provide as my account is not in arrears. I called Origin they said they would NEVER call a customer even if overdue, let alone when your account is not overdue. DO NOT GIVE THESE CROOKS YOUR DETAILS.

Also received a phone call saying we are in arrears.

I received a voicemail message from this number purporting to be an important call about my Origin LPG account. I called Origin LPG directly on 133 574 and they confirmed that 1300 788 240 is NOT one of their phone numbers.

Whats interesting is that the woman's accent in the message is very similar to what you get when you get put through to the actual Origin LPG call centre, and that I have only been an Origin LPG customer for the last 6 weeks. This was probably a non-specific phish attempt, at no point was the account holder name or other identifying information given in the message.

received call from gentleman stating he was from Origin accounts and that the account was in arrears. thought this was strange as we only received bill last week, so we rang and confirmed with origin that this is not their number. This number is a scam
